Martin Mas – The matter matters

Born in Uruguay and settled in Palma de Mallorca since 2004, Martín Mas is known for his organic sculptures and wall objects in wood. His work, which includes painting, sculpture, works on paper, and installations, develops a contemporary and minimalist visual language that combines organic forms, with wood as the central focus.

In this new exhibition, Mas returns to wood as his primary medium. His pieces are characterized by their simplicity, clear lines, and organic forms. This latest body of work marks a renewed exploration of color, where he investigates various textures, shapes, lines, and marks, transforming wood—a simple and universal material—into genuine and contemplative works.
